“My entire experience was exceptional, from choosing a picture to finished product. Choosing an artist to capture such a precious moment can be difficult and overwhelming. Suzanne was able to capture the true essence of my girls. The life and energy that radiates from this piece has transformed our living room. I look forward to filling my home with more of her gorgeous art.” Hannah P-K.
Commissions
It is an honor for me to help people celebrate the family they love. Commissions are an opportunity for me to assist in capturing a special moment for their wall. I have worked with families to portray children and siblings, as well as riders who want their beloved friend and partners painted. I have also captured well-loved family pets. Art collectors who love the beauty of horses in motion can also commission a custom piece.

FAQ
I price my commission work by size and sizes start at 11×14″. Prices start at $1500 for An oil painting. The most common sizes are:
11×14: $1500
16×20: $1800
20×24: $2100
Larger sizes are possible and I am happy to discuss that with you.
I also work in charcoal and graphite and those prices start at $495 for an 8×10.
I require a down payment of 50% at the beginning of the commission, and the remainder upon completion. However, I will offer creative financing to help you out based on individual circumstances. (Determined on an individual basis by me)
I work primarily with oils on panel, but also love working in charcoal. I have also done commissions in graphite.
Usually a commission can be completed in 2-3 months. Occasionally as my schedule allows I can complete the work sooner, but 2 months is the usual amount of time I commit to. On large works this may take longer.
I typically work from photos. Often I’m asked to commemorate a beloved pet that has passed and so a photo is necessary. If possible I like to meet my subject. And there is usually a point at which I will ask questions to glean as much information about the them as I can; things about personality, demeanor, history, and the like.
Very Important: The photo must be of decent quality! After all, how can I make an accurate representation if the photo is tiny, blurry or very dark?
I do not do exact replicas of the photograph. By hiring an artist you are asking that artist to instill their own view point into the work. The most successful pieces are the ones that have allowed me to express in paint in a personal manner. After all, that’s why you’ve hired me right?
It all begins with a conversation. I am happy to talk with you any time about your specific needs and how I can be of help to make your own personal painting a reality. You may contact me via e-mail or a phone call.
After that we discuss terms and I have you sign a contract, before I begin work.
No. I am happy to paint almost anything for you, within reason. One of my most successful commissions was for a statement piece for a wonderful family who had made an addition to their home. They were drawn to my style and I think we made a great fit.
